ONCE IN A LULLABY Trailer | TIFF Kids 2013

Once in a Lullaby is an inspiring documentary that shows the extraordinary things that can happen when a dedicated teacher uses social media to share his students' talents with the world. The elementary school chorus from Staten Island, New York City's Public School 22 — the largest and most ethnically diverse school in the borough — came to worldwide attention in 2006 when their renditions of Top 40 hits began to cause a stir on YouTube. A few short years later, the PS22 Chorus had racked up over 50 million video views, performed with such stars as Katy Perry, Carrie Underwood and Common, been featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show, and performed the closing number at the 2011 Academy Awards© ceremony. Following the PS22 Chorus as they embark on their journey to the Oscars, Once in a Lullaby demonstrates how music can encourage self-confidence and provide young people with the tools to overcome obstacles at home, school, and even in the global spotlight.
